GuitarrÁfrika is a fusion of Brazilian Amazonian guitar music ("guitarrada") and Afrobeat. It can also be defined as "dance-oriented instrumental music", aesthetically sewn by guitars with a Caribbean/ Amazonian accent played over African rhythmic patterns.

Led by multiinstrumentalist and composer Dillo D'Araujo, the album's repertoire is the result of an immersion in the African and black Caribbean musical culture, made by the Brazilian guitarist in a recent trip to South Africa, where the guitarrist got to know the Oil Can Guitar (guitars made with oil cans invented in the 1960s), as well as meeting and recording with musicians from different regions of the continent, and writing all the themes on the album.

The album has been extensively presented live in a power trio format complemented by video projections.
